A very simple, but pleasant, technique of becoming more in tune with with the elements.
This is a meditation based outside, fist of all find a spot by water, say in the park, a field or even in your back garden.
Make sure you feel comfortable where you are and that there is the privacy there if you require it,
Sit down by the water(bear foot is even better for this as you can feel the grass on your toes) and get into a comfortable position.
Close your eyes. To fully untense your muscles, start at your toes and clench and release all of your muscles until you reach the top. Do this until you almost feel yourself sink back and feel completely relaxed.
Next start to regulate your breathing, eventually this will become quite and unconscious thing.
Once you are feeling relaxed and quiet of mind, focus on the sounds and feelings around you, the warmth of the sun, the touch of the breeze on your skin, the feeling of the earth underneath your toes and the sound of the water trickling.
As you focus on these more the sounds and sensations will be come more intense, when your ready push out with your energy and let your spirit mingle with the energies of the elements, sit for as long as you can, quietly and at peace with your surroundings.
When you are ready to wake up, do it slowly and without rushing.
