Devil's mark Empty
PostSubject: Devil's mark   Devil's mark I_icon_minitimeTue Sep 29, 2009 7:48 am

The Devil's Mark was allegedly the "false teat" that a witch used to feed her familiar. It was said to be insensitive to pain, so finding a spot on an accused witch's body that didn't bleed or suffer pain was considered proof of witchcraft. Naturally this meant the witch would have to endure the process of finding said mark, which involved stripping her naked and stabbing her repeatedly with a needle. It also meant that witchfinders were able to falsify evidence by using a fake needle, sort of like the joke knives whose blades retract into the hilt when stabbing.
