Astral is much much easier and safer than ehtric. Ethric is where your soul your mind leave your body completely and take over all functions such as breathing/resporating, thinking and other things... Ethric you may climb to other astral plains just as in Astral projection.

Ap (astral projection)is where your soul leaves but your body still lives on in a dormant like state.
Ep (ethric projection) is where once again, where you practically die and force yourself into an apparition type form.

Mental comes first and is like daydreaming but it's real.
Astral comes next wich is like dreaming but it's real.
Etheric comes last and is like becoming a temporary ghost and everything is a potential threat to your very life.
